The Hangover Chronicles – Part XII – The Mineral

A mission of every Hangover Chronicle is to find a hangover cure or bust the myth of it really curing a hangover.  The Creator of the Hangover Chronicles, “Put em down” Brown, had a vision of where these blogisodes would take us and how they would eventually help the drinking community overcome the dreaded hangover.  However, a month ago the drinking community lost a fearless leader when “Put em down” went to the Betty Ford clinic due to alcohol abuse and the stress being put on him by attempting to cure hangovers.  This past week, Mr. Brown let us know that he was out of the clinic and back home having a few drinks as he tries to get back in shape in time for the late summer/fall season of the Hangover Chronicles.  We wish him the best of luck for a full recovery.

This week in the Hangover Chronicles we will be attempting to add minerals back to our body via Pickles and Tunafish.

It was a muggy evening Friday and I had yet to eat dinner when I started drinking.  I was over at my rents for the evening and Stu (the ultimate drinker) decided to try the hangover cure as well.  We both started with a few coronas followed by a few Bud Lights before heading over to happy hour to punish a cooler full of Bud Light and Miller Lite.  We had yet to eat dinner so I knew Happy hour on top of what we had already drank was beginning to sound like a serious hangover was in the making.  I’m not sure really how much we had to drink by the time we were finished, and quite frankly I didn’t care because I was feeling a great Buzz.  After returning home, we continued to drink until it was time to attempt the Hangover remedy.

At about 11pm, I got out the Pickles and Tuna fish and started to prepare the remedy.  After completing the preparation, I downed quite a few pickles just to make sure I was getting enough “Minerals” back in my body.  We both ate a normal sized Tuna fish sandwich with some water and retired for the evening shortly after Midnight (In separate rooms).

Result:  I woke up around 8am after about 7 hours of sleep and had quite the hangover.  I was light headed with a solid headache and more than likely would have thrown up if I wouldn’t have returned to bed for about 2 or 3 more hours of sleep.  Stu also experienced a hangover despite the sandwich’s best effort to replenish “minerals” in our body.

So we conclude, heavy drinkers looking for the perfect remedy for your hangover, you may want to look elsewhere. If your really hungry and already plan on doing something else for a hangover cure, feel free to add this on top of that and it may help.
