A common hangover remedy is to hit the Hangover before it has a chance to get going. This week we wanted to try the Advil before going to bed and see if it helps offset a major hangover. That being said, not every weekend will be a successful attempt at curing your hangover, it just comes with the territory when your drinking with friends and quite frankly, when your really drunk. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to share with everyone Saturday’s attempt, and the effort of getting a hangover for Sunday morning.
A planned trip to Williamsburg, VA for a Busch Gardens day of drinking was delayed due to heavy rain. Did this stop us from drinking? Oh no…
A bar named “Pitchers” lived up to their name, as we downed a few and then headed to Sunny Busch Gardens. A few rollercoaster rides and a few beers and I could feel the Budweiser pounding my head. I knew this would be a hell of a hangover the next day if I continued to drink like I did. My headache was throbbing as I continued to drink and after Busch Gardens not only was I already feeling beyond drunk, I was feeling the beginning of the Budweiser Hangover Headache setting in. Time for the Hanover remedy right? An 800 mg Advil and a glass of water.
I wish that was it for the rest of my night, as I for some reason started to feel great again and we went back to “Pitchers” and continued drinking more. I’m not really sure how much more I drank but I am glad I took the Advil because it cured the Headache almost right away.
Results: Although the Advil cured the headache that night, I continued to drink and therefore I’m not sure if this test should count for a hangover remedy. I do know this, it allowed me to continue drinking and hanging out until I ended up like this:

Cheers!!!

Yeah. Excedrin works like a champ too. It’s not good to take a lot of it though because it thins your blood. I wouldn’t recommend taking any pills before or while drinking. Excedrin has taken away tons of hangover headaches the morning after drinking.
I’ve had the Advil-before-passing-out method work wonders. The problem is, I rarely remember to take said Advil when I’m REALLY drunk.
