Today’s Idiot of the Week award was not considered to be a great one by most peoples standards which is why it’s going to have a dual blog effort to try and lift it to be perhaps one of the biggest idiot of the weeks on record. Our second award for IOTW for the week of May 18th, is the entire city of Buffalo. This goes against our normal standards of making it just one person receiving the award but on a week like this city is having and just had in sports, tip your hat and chug a beer for this city.

Let’s take a look at why we consider this city our second Idiot of the Week. In a year where your football team has members who are being arrested at an alarming rate, another one of the players, Corey McIntyre, gets arrested for supposedly exposing sexual organs and knocking on a woman’s window before fleeing away on his Schwinn. Note: I’m not actually sure if it was a Schwinn or not but I picture it to look like this:

Now the city doesn’t win the award for the above, it was just a nice little jab in their gut. Another Jab to the gut of Buffalo is the fact that beloved Bruce Smith was arrested for a 3rd Driving under the influence this past weekend, just months before being enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

If the above two stories were the “ol one-two”, then the real reason we are handing over our award to the City of Buffalo comes today. For the uppercut that takes the award, Terrell owens will be receiving the key to the City. Yes the Key to the City of Buffalo today. Are you kidding me? The guy has yet to even play one game for the team and is 35 years old, probably leaving his best days behind him. You have to laugh at the excitement by all the fans over one player who does not change the fact that your going into a 4th year with a coach who just received an extension after three straight 7-9 seasons.
